Garbage Service is provided by Republic Services through 2027 by a bid contract. Residential and Commercial are required to utilize Republic Services exclusively.
- Residential Garbage is picked up every week on Wednesdays.
- Questions about the trash for Residential services must contact the Village Hall, not Republic Services.
- Your garbage cart(s) must be out at the ‘curb’ by 6:00 AM Wednesday mornings.
- All garbage must be inside the cart in order to be picked up.
- Commercial Carts and Dumpster are picked up on Thursdays but may vary. Contact Republic directly.
Barron County provides recycling and you pay a fee on your tax bill to support the recycling center. Recycling is mandatory in Barron County.
Recycling Site is located on Nth 6th Street just North of W Main St and South of the railroad tracks on N 6th Street. This is an unmanned site and on the honor system. Abuse of the service may result in fines and/or removal of the site. Let’s keep it going by following the recycling rules.
Do not place in garbage carts! Village yard waste site is open every day Monday – Friday. This is for Village Residents only! Note: A Cameron zip code does not necessarily mean you live in the village corporate boundaries. Please check with the Municipal Clerk or view your real estate property tax bill to see which municipal district you reside in.
Water-Sewer Service is billed monthly on the 1st of the month along with your garbage service. Payment due date is the 26th of every month.

- Online payments are paid thru Allpaid, a third-party credit card agency that the Village contracts with. You can find the online link on our website. There is a small fee to pay with a credit card.

Animals are not allowed to run at large and dogs need to be licensed. Licenses need to be renewed between January and March 31st annually. Licenses may be obtained at the Village Hall.
Dog Tag Fees: $5.00 fixed, $10.00 un-fixed. A Certificate of Vaccination from the veterinary clinic is required when applying for the license proving a rabies vaccination. There is a limit of (3) three dogs per residence.
Residents and occupants are required to keep their sidewalks clean from snow and debris. Shovel or remove debris within 24 hours. By ordinance noxious weeds must be mown and removed and there are lawn regulations on keeping lawns mowed. The Village of Cameron does NOT participate in the “No Mow May”.
In order to facilitate the efficient and expeditious removal of snow from Village streets during winter months, it shall be unlawful for any vehicle to park on any Village Street from
November 1 to April 1 from 2:00 AM to 6:00 AM.
Except for the purposes of making deliveries or pickups from a residence, no person shall park any trailer in any residential district in the village.
Any vehicle left unattended for more than 48 hours on any public street or grounds, or on private property where parking is prohibited, limited or restricted, without the permission of the owner or lessee, is deemed abandoned and constitutes a public nuisance.
Village Board meetings are held the second Monday of every month at 6:00 PM at Village Hall – 300 N 1st St., Cameron – Enter at the North end of the building (facing Birch Street).

Apply for a building permit before starting a project. Penalties may be doubled if starting a project prior to being issued a building permit.
